Dear Clients and Stakeholder of the Palm Industry;

Following a media report, published on the Observer Newspaper in the UK, regarding the land purchased by Consortium El Labrador (formed by CI San Isidro and CI Tequendama subsidiary of Daabon),  in 2006. We would like to reassure all our customers and stakeholders that w e expect to be able to clarify all facts on the case.  As a company we have acted in good faith and we are doing our utmost to solve the situation.

So far we have been followed to approaches:

•  The legal path: through which we have proof the legality and the transparency on the acquisition process.

•  Social approach: We remain committed to our Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability code; as a result it has been paramount to engage with the communities.  We have member of Daabon Social Department working on the area, and we also decided to proactively engage with different NGO's that have raise awareness on the Pavas Case in Colombia and abroad.

Within the next days we are expecting the resolution from the Incoder, this will be the final stage to close the legal frame.   We will continue our engagement with NGO's in order to present our facts so that they all have a full view on the case.  We will carry on working with the communities.  And we are also commissioned a third party organization that will issue an official report for our clients and stakeholders.

We believe Daabon's projects on the Magdalena area, are the mirror of Daabon's philosophy. We certainly have an impeccable record, and have developed and managed successfully, several projects with International recognition. I can reassure you, that our aim is to transfer our experience and knowledge to all our new projects, with the intention of becoming the facilitators of progress in an area where historically the violence and poverty had prevalent, and indeed South of Bolivar is no exception.

We are open to any constructive exchange.  Our aim is to find a resolution to the conflict to all parties' satisfaction. 

Attached to this communication are two statement already issued and circulated between clients and stakeholders of the Industry, these present the chronology of the case as well as more detailed information, other statements will be issue in the future with the aim to keep you inform on the progress of the case.  In the mean time do not hesitate to contact any of the members of Daabon's team in our commercial offices whenever you require further information.

Respetados Clientes e Involucrados en la Industria Palmera ;

Haciendo seguimiento al reporte publicado en el periódico Ingles “The Observer”, referente a las áreas adquiridas por el Consorcio el Labrador (conformado por C.I. San Isidro S.A. y C.I. Tequendama S.A- Subsidiaria de DAABON Organic); queremos reafirmarles que estamos dispuestos a aclarar cualquier hecho ocurrido del caso. Como compañía, hemos actuado de buena fe y estamos haciendo lo posible para resolver la situación.

Hemos decidido proceder de la siguiente forma:

•  El proceso legal: por medio del cual demostramos la legalidad y la transparencia del proceso de adquisición de tierras.

•  Aproximación Social: Seguimos comprometidos con nuestro código de Responsabilidad Social Corporativa y Sostenibilidad; por el cual estamos obligados a involucrarnos directamente con la comunidad. Tenemos a los miembros del Departamento Social de DAABON trabajando en el área. Hemos querido adicionalmente consultar con diferentes ONG para incrementar el interés de la comunidad colombiana y la internacional.

Estamos a la espera de la resolución del INCODER en los siguientes días, este será la fase final que cierre el capitulo legal. Seguiremos nuestro proceso con las Organizaciones No Gubernamentales para presentar nuestras pruebas y crear un caso objetivo entre los actores principales; de igual forma con la comunidad. Para terminar, hemos comisionado a un tercer ente objetivo (Internacional) para que desarrolle un reporte oficial que será entregado a los interesados.

Realmente creemos que los proyectos sociales de DAABON en el Departamento del Magdalena son un reflejo de nuestra filosofía. Tenemos un registro impecable en todos los aspectos, hemos desarrollado un sinnúmero de proyectos; muchos de ellos con reconocimiento internacional. Puedo afirmar que nuestro objetivo es transferir conocimiento y experiencia para la consecución positiva de todas nuestras aspiraciones. No sería para menos hacerlo en el Sur de Bolívar, una zona que ha sufrido históricamente de violencia y pobreza.

Estamos abiertos a cualquier diálogo constructivo. Nuestro objetivo principal es resolver cualquier conflicto que pueda existir en la zona.

Adjunto a este comunicado hay dos notificaciones elaboradas previamente que han circulado a través de nuestros clientes e interesados de la industria; se presenta la cronología y los hechos reales del conflicto de una forma detallada. Otros serán emitidos para mantener a la opinión publica informada del desarrollo de los hechos del caso. Mientras tanto, no duden en contactar a cualquier miembro de DAABON o en sus oficinas comerciales si requieren de información más concisa.
