The Alliances for the peace program created by Daabon on 1999 has become a successful project that has brought wellness to the farms that are part of it. This project involves more than 850 families. They have planted over 2500 hectares of African Palm tree. This model has been copied by the government and other private entities due to its positive results.

<The Kogee culture is primaliry focused on nature and its care. They believe that by taking proper care of the land will take proper care of them in return.

All of Daabon Organic Australia products come from environmentally friendly plantations where no deforestation has occurred and social responsible practices are in place. The Daabon Group has been at the forefront of both environmental and social responsibility for many years. For almost 20 years, Daabon has focused on certified organic production, and has since started focusing on social standards, such as SA8000, Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance. Daabon works extensively with local cooperatives, providing training and market access.

Social Responsibility

We strive to support our local communities in Colombia and allocate a percentage of our FOB export value to fund social projects in Santa Marta and aid in the activities of our workers welfare associations. Daabon Group aids these associations in obtaining 80% of the required financing for the development of their parcels from Government sponsored financial institutions. In addition, Daabon Group backs up the small farmers’ associations in the remaining 20% of the required financing in order to enable them to fully fund their own micro projects. This is one of the only sources of income for the local communities of the Sierra Nevada, all family members of these indigenous communities and local farmers participate in the harvest and therefore in the benefits produced, thus improving the social conditions of people in this region.

Indigenous People and Environment

It is worth mentioning the contribution the coffee plantations provide to maintaining the biodiversity. The required shading for coffee plantations ensures we plant native trees and agro-productive species similar to the original forest vegetations, which in turn improves the fauna habitat and bird migrations.

Similarly, Daabon Group has 3 beautiful organic palm tree plantations located on the western slopes of the Santa Marta mountain range. The climatic conditions, wide availability of pure and non contaminated water flowing down from the snow peaks to the farms and year long extended sun light are ideal for palm fruit production. Daabon is the only company in the world that has vertically integrated the palm oil production from seeder to farming, harvesting, mechanical pressing, physical refinery and finally direct to the market.
